Women’s History Month: Celebrating My Support System and Women's Influence in IT

March is a time to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women throughout history, and this Women's History Month, I am taking a moment to shine a light on the remarkable women who have been instrumental to my journey and the success of BlackHawk Data.

As a female CEO in the challenging IT industry, I've encountered my share of obstacles, but the support, mentorship, and encouragement from these women have been pivotal. They have not only helped pave the way for me but have also contributed to creating a more inclusive and diverse industry.

This serves as both a personal thank you and a public acknowledgment of the powerful impact you have made. It's a testament to the fact that behind every successful woman is a network of other successful women who have helped her rise. As we move forward, let’s continue to support, uplift, and inspire one another, paving the way for more women to lead and excel in the IT industry and beyond.

Kristin Malek

In the midst of Women’s History Month, I am compelled to express my profound appreciation for the extraordinary women who have supported me and contributed to my success and that of BlackHawk Data. Among these influential figures is Kristin Malek, whose dedication to uplifting women, minorities, and small businesses is unparalleled. Kristin's unwavering support and invaluable advice have been a beacon of encouragement, making her a deserving individual of recognition and celebration.

Jill Werfel

Jill Werfel's longstanding friendship and business partnership have been cornerstones of my support system over the last five years. Jill's readiness to offer guidance, support, or simply a shoulder to lean on has been a source of strength for me. Her presence in my life exemplifies the power of solidarity and the importance of having allies who genuinely care.

Donna Godfrey

Donna Godfrey, one of BlackHawk Data's first clients, took a leap of faith with us at a crucial time. Her support transcends professional boundaries, offering a friendship that has been a source of comfort and understanding. Donna embodies the spirit of true partnership and empathy, qualities that have enriched my journey.

Christine Wolff

Christine Wolff's reaction to my decision to start BlackHawk Data from scratch was a mix of surprise and wisdom. Her advice to carve out a distinct space in a male-dominated industry was a game-changer. It encouraged me to forge a unique path and establish BlackHawk Data as a contender in the IT world.

CRN - Women of the Channel

The women of CRN’s Leadership Network, particularly Val Wright, Jacquie Rives, and Cass Cooper, have been instrumental in my growth and resilience. Val Wright's coaching has taught me to embrace my achievements with joy. Jacquie Rives' leadership in the CRN Women of the Channel has been a wellspring of encouragement, while Cass Cooper's insights into DEI have enlightened me, continually shedding light on how to foster an inclusive environment.

A Tribute to Pioneering Women

As we celebrate Women’s History Month, I am reminded of the strength, resilience, and wisdom of the women who have influenced my life and career. Their contributions to BlackHawk Data and to the broader IT industry have not only helped shape our success but have also paved the way for future generations of women in tech. To Kristin, Jill, the women of CRN, Donna, Christine, and all the other remarkable women whose support has been invaluable, thank you. Your mentorship, friendship, and guidance have been the cornerstone of my journey as a female CEO. Together, we continue to break barriers and build a more inclusive industry, inspired by your example and driven by our collective vision for equality and diversity.
